Beyerskloof is known for leaving the decisionmaking to the winemakers, letting the conditions of the harvest, determined by the climate, guide their process and thus letting them bring out the best in flavour, colour and structure of the grapes.

Benriach & Glendronach Single Malt Tasting

It’s time for another whiskey evening at Prosopa, and this time we’re joined by GlenDronach!

The GlenDronach is of true Highland style: a heavy and robust spirit, perfect for long maturation period in sherry casks. At The GlenDronach Distillery, we have carried forth the tradition of our founder James Allardice since 1826, maturing our whisky in the finest Spanish Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía.

The evening will start with a BenRiach 10yo Classic as a welcoming drink, followed by a tasting of three GlenDronachs: The 12yo, 18yo and 21yo. A three-course meal will finish off the evening.

Closing off the winter season’s Gourmet Dinners, we will be joined by renowned winemaker Dustin Osborne who will be presenting a selection of the famous Mont Rochelle vineyard’s wines.

Mont Rochelle, known for being owned by none other than Sir Richard Branson, is nestled in the Franschoek Valley, 250m to 400m above sea level, in the Cape Winelands Meditteranean climate, perfect to pair with the Mediterranean influenced dishes chosen by chef patron Dino.

The evening will consist of a 5-course dinner accompanied by 5 wines paired with each course.

Jordan Wines Gourmet Dinner

It doesn’t happen often, a renowned Prosopa Gourmet dinner on a Saturday! This time we’re joined by Jordan wines from Stellenbosch.

Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines at this top wine estate since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. Together this husband and wife team is a phenomenon. Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 164-hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specialising in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes.

Unique by nature’s design, the Jordan slopes face North, South, East and West, with vineyards lying at differing altitudes from 160 to 410 meters above sea level. The vineyards benefit from their close proximity to both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and enjoy a mild, Mediterranean climate with a maritime influence.

We’ll be serving a five-course meal chosen by patron-chef Dino and prepared by our culinary team, each paired with a Jordan wine.

The Rupert & Rothschild partnership was formed in 1997 by the late Dr. Anton Rupert of South Africa and the late Baron Edmond de Rothschild of France. Their vision and guiding principles were carried forward by their sons, the late Anthonij Rupert and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild. Today the Rupert family and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild share this prestigious partnership in wine production.

We’ll be kicking off the evening with the beautifully elegant Champagne Barons de Rothschild Brut paired with a trio of oysters! This will be followed by the luscious and buxom Baroness Nadine Chardonnay! Keeping the ever-popular Rupert & Rothschild Classique for dessert, we will be serving the bold and complex Baron Edmond with the main course.
